The Danish LoungerLiggestolen
Elegant and functional, the old recliner has been in use in Denmark since the 1930s for recuperation. A classic piece of furniture that is well loved, Liggestolen has thoughtfully updated the lounger using old Danish traditions and environmentally friendly materials.
The Danish Lounger is handmade from Manua rattan, a sustainable and organic material that is strong and durable. Manua rattan weighs next to nothing and is particularly resistant to mould and mildew.
The lounger can be folded and is easy to lift, making it the perfect understated design piece for your garden, balcony or the beach.
Available separately is the accompanying handmade Kapok Mattress in white.
Made from nature. Blends with nature.
The Danish Lounger can last for more than a lifetime if looked after. Liggestolen suggests keeping the piece protected from the rain and to store indoors during winter time. Over time, the lounger will have a warmer golden-brown glow, and if you use it outdoors, the patina will become more grayish.
It is a good idea to give some soap once. Stir the soap chips into lukewarm water and wipe the chair over with a wrinkled cloth and foam from the water. The soap will lay like a protective coat around the chair.
