Wooden Bristle BrushGlasshouse
The Bristle Brush from Glasshouse is made from high-quality oiled beech wood, with natural boar hair bristles. Boar hair is commonly used in traditional brush making where the piles are finely embedded and give the brush unrivalled hold on the hair. The bristles are also great at absorbing excess grease from the scalp. This brush glides easily through the hair and gives a smooth, styled finish.
Founded in 2013 by New Zealander Olivia Crighton, Glasshouse was born from a belief in the superiority of natural ingredients, with consideration for the environment. Combining sustainability with design, this ethos is carried over to the growing range of Glasshouse products that are each made with expert care and craft.
Prioritising the use of natural materials and traditional craftsmanship, Glasshouse Brushes are produced by a German-based manufacturer who have specialised in making wooden brushes for over 140 years, operating in the historic Black Forest since 1869.
They are an FSC certified firm with strong environmental principles; excess wood shavings from each brush are used to heat the production premises and for the wood-drying process. They pride themselves on supporting the environmentally friendly, socially responsible and economically viable use of the world’s forests.
